Xiaomi to unveil Global variant of Redmi Note 7 as Redmi Note 7S in India tomorrow!



A week ago Xiaomi shared on Twitter that it has sold over 2 million units of its Redmi Note 7 series and in the same tweet started a new hashtag that said #48MPforeveryone which suggested that Xiaomi launching a new phone & speculations started floating around the possible launch of the Global variant of the Redmi Note 7.

A few days ago Manu Kumar Jain, MD of Xiaomi India cornfield via a tweet that the new phone they are launching in India is indeed the Global version of Redmi Note 7, which will launch as Redmi Note 7S in India on 20th May.

Although Xiaomi has already unveiled the Redmi Note 7 along with the Redmi Note 7 Pro in February, which has different camera configuration  (12MP+2MP) than the smartphone which was launched in China, nonetheless it looks like that company is set to unveil the same 48MP+5MP camera setup with the Redmi Note 7S, which possibly makes it more affordable than the Redmi Note 7 Pro. Since Xiaomi has been teasing about the #48MPforeveryone only so we the specifications to remain the same.

The Global variant of the Redmi Note 7  has the 6.3-inch FullHD+dot notch display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 409ppi pixel density & Gorilla Glass 5 for protection. Under the hood, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core chipset with Adreno 512 for graphics. The smartphone comes in two RAM & storage options – 3GB/32GB, 4GB/64GB variant, there’s also a MicroSD card slot to expand memory upto 256GB. Runs on MIUI 10 on top of Android 9 Pie.

Optics – The smartphone has a primary 48MP sensor coupled with a 5MP module for depth sensing and on the front, it has a 13MP camera for the selfies. Other features of the camera – AI Mode, Portrait mode, AI scene recognition, HDR, etc.

It has a 4000mAh battery with support for Qualcomm Quick charge 4.0.
