Today, Xiaomi launched the much-anticipated next iteration of its Redmi series in India with the Redmi Note 7 & Redmi Note 7 Pro, while the Redmi Note 7 has already been launched in China and this was the global debut of Redmi Note 7 Pro just like how they did with Note 5 Pro.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 7
Although the Redmi Note 7 has already been launched in China and if you are hoping this is the same Note 7 then it is not as this version of Redmi Note 7 has a slightly different camera setup and different colours.
The Redmi Note 7 has a 6.3 inch LTPS LCD Full HD+ a Dot shaped Notch display (as Xiaomi calls it) with an aspect ratio of 19:5:9 and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for protection (Front and Back).
As for the Specs – The handset is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE processor which is clocked at 2.2GHz, not the underclocked version which you see in Asus Max Pro M2 or Realme 2 Pro. Note 7 comes in two variants – 3GB RAM/32GB & 4GB RAM/64GB internal storage and runs on Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 on top.
Coming to the Cameras – The Redmi Note 7 has a dual rear camera(s) the 12MP (Main) is a Sony IMX 486 (Same as Note 5 Pro) which is a downgrade compared to its Chinese brother. It is coupled with a 2MP depth sensor for the portrait shots, there’s also a 13MP front camera for the selfies.
The smartphone has the standard 4000mAh battery, supports Qualcomm Quick charge 4.0. Xiaomi has finally ditched the Mirco USB and has opted for USB Type-C (which is the first for Redmi phones), other features include the IR Blaster & 3.5mm audio jack.
Redmi Note 7 comes in three colours – Onyx Black, Sapphire Blue and Ruby Red and is priced at Rs. 9,999 for the 3/32GB variant and Rs. 11,999 for 4/64GB, it will go on sale from March 6th on Flipkart & Mi.com.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro
This is the second global launch of a Redmi phone by Xiaomi in India, First being the Note 5 Pro and this time Xiaomi didn’t disappoint their fans as they did with Note 6 Pro.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro has the same 6.3 inch LTPS LCD Full HD+, U shaped Notch display with an aspect ratio of 19:5:9 and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for protection (Front and Back), so both the phones look very much identical.
Redmi Note 7 Pro is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 675, which makes it the second phone to power it after Vivo V15 Pro in India. It comes in two variant 4GB RAM/64GB, 6GB RAM/128GB internal storage, and runs on Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 on top.
Optics – The smartphone comes with the dual rear camera(s), one of which is 48MP (Main) Sony IMX586 sensor and 5MP depth sensor for the portrait shots.
The Sony IMX 586 is the real 48MP sensor, unlike the 12MP Pixel, binned Samsung GM1 sensor found on Chinese variant. Although the phone will take a 12MP shot and will it make it a 48MP shot on Auto mode via pixel binning and if you want to use native 48MP sensor you’ll have to turn on the Pro mode. There’s also a 13MP front camera for taking selfies. other features include 4K recording at 30FPS, AI scene detection, Night mode etc.
The handset has a 4000mAh battery same as Note 7, charges it via USB Type-C, both the phones support Qualcomm Quick 4 and you get a 5W/2A charger is included in the box but you have to buy QC 3.0 charger separately from Mi.com or Amazon to charge it quickly. The smartphone comes in three colours options – Space Black, Nebula Red and Neptune Blue.
Redmi Note 7 Pro is priced at Rs. 13,999 for 4/64GB and Rs. 15,999 for 6/128GB, it will be available from March 13th at 12 Noon on Flipkart & Mi.com.
