Xiaomi unveiled the third iteration of its Mi Mix series – the Mi Mix 3 in October last year. Today at MWC Barcelona, Xiaomi launched Mi Mix 3 5G with the latest 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
There’s no change in terms of design, stills hold its beautiful design, powerful internals and slider mechanism, the only major difference is the support for 5G, thanks to the Qualcomm X50 modem and Snapdragon 855 so apart from that you’re looking at the same slider design as last year.
The major change between the standard MIx 3 to the Mix 3 5G that it is powered by Qualcomm’s the Snapdragon 855, along with x50 modem makes the Mix 3 5G one of the first phones to support 5G in the world.
As for the other specs – Mix Mix 3 5G has a 6.39inch Full HD+ AMOLED, display with an almost bezel-less design with a slider mechanism which houses two front cameras and earpiece. The two dual cameras which remain the same as standard Mix 3, it has 6GB of RAM & 64/128GB internal storage, rear fingerprint scanner and a dedicated Google Assistant button.
As for the dual rear cameras, there’s a 12MP Sony IMX 363 with Dual AF, OIS, and a secondary 12MP telephoto lens with 2x Optical Zoom plus a 24MP Sony IMX576 + 2MP dual front cameras. Both the front & back camera(s) have AI integration, the smartphone has a 3200 mAh battery with support for wireless charging, which is included in the box as well, comes in two colours – Onyx Black, Sapphire Blue.
The Mi Mix 3 5G is priced €599 for Europe, which translates into $679 for the US, possibly makes it cheapest flagship in the US. The device will be available in May 2019.
