Xiaomi Mi band 5 launched in India at Rs 2,499!

Xiaomi, Today at its Smarter living annual edition launched a number of Wearables & IoT devices and one such product is the next iteration of Mi band 4 i.e. Xiaomi Mi band 5. The fitness tracker has already launched in China in June.

Although the Xiaomi Mi band 5 is more like an incremental update over its predecessor it does bring some major changes especially the new magnetic system & a slightly bigger display & more.

Xiaomi Mi band 5: Design & Specifications.

The Mi band 5 is similar to its predecessor in terms of design. Yes, pilled shaped though it has a slightly bigger display & there’s also a small button on the display to go home etc. It has the same straps as the other Mi bands.

As for the specs, the Mi band 5 has a 1.1 inch OLED display with 126×294 pixel resolution, 16 colour bit and 450 nits brightness. the company says the display area is 20% more than Mi band 4.


The Xiaomi Mi band 5 has all the fitness features like 24-hour heart rate sensor, step tracking, sleep monitoring, calorie count, goals setting & stress monitoring. It also tracks women menstrual & ovulation phases. Xiaomi says it has upgraded its PPG Bio sensor which should enable up to 50% more accurate heart monitoring.


There’s unlimited watch faces, notifications alert for calls & messages, music control, camera shutter button weather forecast, timer & alarm.


Furthermore, there’s PIA Mode i.e. Personal Activity intelligence which gives you a score based on your activities for the day & tells you much active you need to be to stay healthy. All this is calculated using gender, age, heart rate & other important things. The fitness band comes in 5 colour options Navy Blue, Black, Teal, Purple & Orange.


There are 11 professional sports modes in the Mi band 5 which includes outdoor running, walking, riding, indoor running, indoor swimming, freestyle, yoga, elliptical machine, indoor riding and rope skipping.


The wearable is touted to last 14 days on regular use & 21 days on power-saving mode and the company has improved the way you charge the band with the introduction of magnetic charger thus eliminating the need to take out the capsule from the band to charge. Moreover, the band is water-resistant up to 50 ATM so you can take it to swim or bath without worrying about it.

The band is priced at Rs. 2,499 and it will be available from October 1 on Amazon & Mi.com.Soon will be available through the offline stores & Mi home stores.
