Samsung launched its M series of smartphones earlier this year, like M10, M20 & M30, which have proved to be a massive success. Now Samsung is all geared up to launch a new device named M40 on June 11. The device was already spotted in Geekbench with the model number SM-M405F.

As you can see from the above image that the Galaxy M40 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 (First in M series smartphone instead of Exynos) & we’ve seen SD 675 on many other devices like the Redmi Note 7 Pro, coupled with 6GB of RAM and possibly 128GB of storage. With the inclusion of Snapgradon 675, it puts the M40 on par with Galaxy A50, which is considerably more high-end device & it should be a major upgrade over the Exynos 7904 present in the Galaxy M20 & M30.

The Galaxy M40 will be the first M series smartphone to have an O shaped or Infinity O display, after the Galaxy S10 flagship series. Reports suggest that it will have a Super AMOLED display like the M30. Apparently, this would have Screen Sound technology; first in a Samsung phone. Sound technology means that there will not be earpiece as the audio and vibrations will come directly from the display. A vertical triple rear camera setup at the back along with fingerprint sensor just like the Galaxy M30, running on Android 9 Pie out of the box.

The device with the same model number appeared on Bluetooth SIG and Wi-Fi Alliance. The device is expected to continue the trend i.e to pack a 5,000mAh battery that will last for over a day. The device will also support fast charging. The price of the upcoming Galaxy M40 is likely to be around 20K in India, it will be an Amazon exclusive smartphone. The device would run on Android Pie on top of OneUi. Meanwhile, Samsung has pushed Android Pie based on OneUi for it’s M series of phones.
