last week, Xiaomi on its 10th anniversary launched 22 products in China, which included the first-ever fitness band from Redmi and interestingly it is called the Redmi band, sounds familiar yeah?.
Anyways, at the launch event, Redmi did not reveal anything about when it will launch the band in India or will launch it at all or not. Though now it seems that the company will soon launch the band in India, Yes as per Mukul Sharma, the fitness tracker reportedly got listed on the BIS website, i.e. it is required for companies need to get in order to launch their product in India.
For those who don’t know, the Redmi band in terms of design looks identical to the Honor Band 5 & the Realme band that launched last month in India. Anyway, it features a 1.08 inch LCD colour display, which is slightly bigger than the Mi band 4, which is more expensive. it has all the features that modern fitness trackers have like the sleeping tracking, five sports mode, heart rate sensor and it has 72 watch faces to customise the look of the band.
The fitness tracker has the standard USB-A plug, which eliminates the need for a charger just like the Realme band. The battery life of the band is listed to last till 14 days, which is less compared to Mi band, anyway the battery takes upto 2 hours to charge. Redmi band is rated upto 5 ATM resistance so going swimming with it isn’t a problem.
The fitness tracker doesn’t have NFC support and comes in in four colour options – Black, Blue, Red & Brown. Redmi band is priced 99.99 Yuan in China.
Although we don’t know what will be the pricing of the Redmi if it launches in India, considering its pricing in China, we won’t be surprised if it launches around RS 1500 to probably compete with Realme Band.
