REDMI-9-REAR-PAEL-LEAKED

Just like the Redmi Note series, standard Redmi series is very popular in India and the company is expected to unveil the successor of the Redmi 8 that launched last year. A leak suggested that Redmi will launch Redmi 9 in the third quarter of 2020, we think that this isn’t true as the company won’t wait this long to launch the next iteration considering how popular the series is.

Well, it seems that the launch might not be too far as the alleged image of the Redmi 9 has been leaked by Shudhanshu Ambhore which reveals the rear design of the device and has also shared some major specifications as well.

As you can see from the image above, there’s a circle around the camera similar to POCO X2 and the quad rear cameras are vertically aligned into it similar to Redmi Note 8 Pro so it seems like Redmi & POCO had a baby. The fingerprint scanner is on the rear as well.’

As for the specifications, The Redmi 9 will be powered by the Mediatek Helio G80 processor, it is the same processor that powers the recently launched Realme 6i and there’s a quad rear camera setup which has a 13MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor.

The device will be available in at least two colour options – Purple & Green.

With that being said we don’t know how the front of the device is like as the image only reveals the rear panel so it will be interesting to see what Redmi adopts a waterdrop notch or a punch-hole. The leak does not provide any details about the RAM & storage we think it should come in at least two variants with 3GB/32GB being the base variant.
