Today, Redmi with the launch of Redmi 10X series has introduced a completely new series dubbed “X” series so now the company has four series in its sleeves – The Note series, K series, X series & the number series. The X series has three smartphones under it – Redmi 10X 5G, Redmi 10X Pro 5G & Redmi 10X 4G, which is a re-branded Redmi Note 9 for China.
As per Redmi, the K series offers extreme performance with flagship specs & the all-new X series offers the best performance after the K series.
Redmi 10X Series: Design & Specifications.
The 10X series features a waterdrop at the front, no punch-hole or full-screen display, there’s with minimal bezel all around, a slight chin at the bottom, Power Button & volume rockers on the right, left is completely clean. There’s an in-display fingerprint sensor. Type-C port, speaker grill & 3.5mm audio jack are at the bottom.
Well, this is where the similarities kick in with the Redmi Note 9, Yes the 10X series has the same rear camera design as the cameras are placed in squarish camera module in the middle.
Now you ask may what’s the difference between both the device so let me you that the regular 10X has triple rear camera setup at the back while the 10X Pro has a Quad rear camera setup at the back.
As for the specs, Redmi 10X series feature a 6.57 inch AMOLED Panel with FullHD+ resolution & regular refresh-rate (60Hz) with 180 touch sampling rate, Corning Gorilla Glass on top & support HDR10+. Powering both the devices is the MediaTek Dimensity 820 chipset This chipset sits between the Kirin 885 & 990G at least as per Anututu (41,000) and there’s also liquid cooling for managing thermal better.
The Redmi 10X 5G comes in three RAM & two Storage variant 6/8GB RAM LPDDR4X & 64/128GB while the Redmi 10X 5G has two RAM & Storage variant 6/8GB RAM & 128/256GB storage, both the phones support UFS 2.1 storage. Runs on MIUI 11 on top of Android 10 & both the phones comes in three colour options – Gold, Purple & Blue.
Coming to the optics, cameras are the one that separates Redmi 10X from the 10X Pro, as there’s an additional Telephoto lens on the 10X Pro. So the Redmi 10X has triple rear cameras which includes a primary 48MP lens, an 8MP ultrawide-angle lens & a 2MP depth camera. On the front, there’s a 16MP selfie shooter.
While the Redmi 10X Pro has a Quad rear camera setup, includes a primary 48MP camera, an 8MP ultrawide-angle lens, an 8MP Telephoto lens with 30X Zoom, OIS, an 8MP ultrawide-angle lens & a 5MP macro lens. On the front, there’s a 20MP camera for selfies.
Both the phones have 4,520mAh battery though what’s different is the fast charging support, as the Redmi 10X has a 22.5W fast charging support while the 10X Pro supports 33W of fast charging one more thing is that the Pro version supports dual NFC & there’s no NFC on the regular version at all
Redmi 10X Series: Price & Availability.
The 6GB/64GB variant of the 10X 5G starts at 1,599 Yuan ($225), 6GB/128GB variant at 1,799 Yuan ($266) while the highest 8GB /128GB variant is priced at 2,099 Yuan($294).
On the other hand, the 8GB/128GB variant of 10X Pro 5G starts at 2,299 Yuan ($232) while the 8GB/256GB is priced at 2,599 Yuan ($364).
Both the handsets are already on pre-order in China & the regular 10X will go on sale from June 1 while the 10X Pro will go sale from June 5.
