Realme, after much of leaks & teasers has finally unveiled the much-awaited Realme Watch in India. This the second wearable device from the company after the Realme Band that launched in March. The Watch has a 1.4-inch Colour touchscreen display, IP68 water & dust resistant & heart rate sensor among others.

Realme Watch has a Squarish design, looks identical to the Apple Watch at first glance though the Realme Watch has a big bezel that has Realme branding on it. Anyway, the watch features a 1.4-inch Colour touchscreen display of 320×320 resolution, 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The display has 323 ppi & a max brightness of 380 nits with 10 brightness level judgements. There’s three axis-accelerometer & PPG sensor & is IP68 water & dust resistant.
The watch comes with 12 pre-loaded watch faces & users can select their favourite watch faces from the Realme Link app. The company said it will add 100+ new watches through an OTA, the default face shows time, date, step count & calories burnt. The Realme Watch runs on customise version of Android, will also run on Android Lolipop or above but unfortunately doesn’t support IOS as there is no Realme link app yet.
Well, like the other existing smartwatches, this watch is also a mixture of fitness & smart features. The smartwatch has a built-in heart-rate sensor which works through a PPG sensor, which is said to monitor heart rate every five minutes and gives an alert if the heart rate gets higher or get lower than the safe limit. There’s so also SPO2 sensor for measuring blood oxygen levels in the body.
The smartwatch comes with 14 sports modes such as Badminton, Yoga, Cricket, Treadmill & table tennis among others, the watch also reminds the user about drinking water, meditation & also monitor sleep. The watch also has Smart Notifications, which gives notifications from popular apps like Facebook, WhatsApp, Youtube, & also notifies when users receive an SMS or calls.
Another new features are the camera controls & music control, the former lets the user use the whole smartwatch as a camera shutter button while the latter lets user to play/pause, change tracks & adjust the volume. Unlike Apple Watch, users can’t answer the call the from Realme though the users can mute or decline the call.
Powering the whole unit is the 160mAh battery which the company claims can offer seven days of battery with continuous heart-rate tracking & nine days without it. Also, there’s a power-saving mode which offers upto twenty days of battery life.
Realme has two straps design – Classic Strap, fashion Strap, the former comes in Black only while the latter has Red & Green colour. The watch comes in Black colour out of the box Notably, fashion straps will be priced at Rs. 500 each.
