Today, Realme has finally launched the much-awaited Realme 7 series in India after a fair of leaks to its name. The Realme 7 has two phones under it i.e. the regular Realme 7 & the Pro version that is the Realme 7 Pro. The Realme 7 series succeeds the Realme 6 series which was launched in March this year.
Realme 7 & Realme 7 Pro: Design & Specifications.
The Design of the Realme 7 & the 7 Pro is the same from the front & back, though there’s a slight difference is between the camera modules. The regular 7 has the rectangular camera array same as the 7 Pro but camera module is a bit wider on the Pro.
Of course, there’s a difference in specifications which separates the two from each other so let’s look at the design first then move onto the specifications of the same.
Both the phones feature a hole-punch display with the cutout on the top left corner of the display for the selfie camera, minimal bezels all around & a quite a chin. Power button on the right, Volume rockers on the left. Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack & stereo speaker at the bottom.
Well, as for the rear, Realme has gone with the new design as it does with every phone it launches. PS. not saying its a bad thing but just mentioning it. The company calls this AG Split design so there’s a dual-tone finish on the rear & is anti-Glare as well. There’s a Quad rear camera setup placed in rectangular shaped camera module which houses the LED Flash as well.
Now coming to the specifications, the Realme 7 has a 6.5-inch IPLS LCD panel with FullHD+ resolution & 90Hz high-refresh-rate whereas the 7 Pro features a 6.5-inch AMOLED panel with FullHD+ resolution but no High-refresh rate (60Hz). Still, it is good to see AMOLED panel this time around.
There’s an in-display fingerprint sensor on the 7 Pro whereas the Realme 7 has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Under the hood, the regular has a Mediatek Helio G95 (which makes it the first phone to launch with it), it’s slightly better than the Helio G90T in terms of performance & scores over 300,000 on Antutu compared to 291,000 of its predecessor.
There is 6GB/8GB LPDDR4X RAM & 64GB/128GB UFS 2.1 Storage and there’s a dedicated MicroSD card for memory expansion. Runs on Realme Ui on top of Android 10. the device comes in two colour options – Mist Blue & Mist White.
As for the Pro variant, it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G. Yes, it is the same as the Realme 6. Well, that’s a bummer. Anyway, there’s 6GB/8GB LPDD4X RAM & 54GB/128GB UFS 2.1 Storage.Runs on Realme Ui on top of Android 10. the device comes in two colour options – Mirror Silver & Mirror Blue.
Now coming to the optics, the regular 7 has Quad rear camera setup includes a 64MP Sony IMX682, which by the way is a massive upgrade over the 64MP Samsung sensor that was on Realme 6. The other sensors are an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP Macro lens& lastly a 2MP B&W portrait lens. On the front, there’s a 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor for taking selfies.
The Realme 7 Pro also features the Quad rear camera setup includes the same 64MP Sony IMX 682 sensor like the 7. The sensor is a big sensor at 1/1.73″ micron with quad pixel tech which results in 1.6-micron size. The other camera sensors are an 8MP wide-angle lens, a 2MP Macro lens& lastly a 2MP B&W portrait lens. On the front, there’s a 32MP front camera for selfies.
One thing is to note here is that the company removed the 12MP Telephoto lens from the 7 pro, which yhe 6 Pro had and Realme’s reasoning behind the removal is that the 64MP lens shoots more detailed images at 2X than a dedicated 2X Telephoto. Now take it as you want!
Moving on to the battery, the Realme 7 has a 5000mAh battery with the 30W support for Dart charging, whereas the Realme 7 Pro has a slightly less battery at 4500mAh but one of highlighting features of the Realme 7 Pro is its charging speed Yes, as it has the 65W Super Dart fast charging tech. Well, which makes it the fastest charging phone in the country alongside the X50 Pro.
In just 15 minutes, the 7 Pro can be charged upto 58%, which is three times faster than the 33W charger. Moreover, it just takes 34 minutes to charge from 0 to 100 for the device.
