Realme 5 Pro launched in India – Snapdragon 712, Quad rear cameras & Gradient Crystal back design!

Realme has launched its two smartphones under its Realme 5 series, we’ve already talked about the Realme 5 which is cheaper among the two, Now lets talk about the more premium offering of this series- Realme 5 Pro, it is the successor to the Realme 3 Pro, Realme 5 Pro offers some great specs at very competitive price point like the Snapdragon 712, Quad rear cameras, VOOC 3.0 & more.

Realme 5 Pro

The Realme 5 Pro looks not a lot different from its predecessor, the Realme 3 Pro, at the front there’s a Dew-drop notch which also houses the front camera with thin bezels at the sides and a little chin at the bottom, as for the back, this is where the difference is, a gradient finish which has Quad rear camera setup on the top left, the fingerprint sensor is present of the centre where the fourth camera is, this time Realme has gone with all-new ‘Crystal design’ which looks good, Type C port, speaker on the bottom, 3.5mm jack on the top. Realme 5 Pro is made up of Polybonat, that’s basically plastic though it’s not some cheap plastic, the gradient colour, the pattern makes it feel more like a glass, more durable than glass though it is prone to scratches but if you are a case or skin person then that’s not a problem anymore.

As for the specs, the Realme 5 Pro has a 6.3 inch FullHD+ LCD display with a Dew-drop notch, so the rumours of it having an AMOLED display were wrong, it has 90.6 screen-to-body-ratio. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 712, though not a huge upgrade over the 710, an upgrade nonetheless as it is clocked at 2.3GHz whereas 710 is clocked at 2.2GHz, which gives 712 a 10% boost in performance. Realme 5 Pro comes in three RAM & Storage variant – 4/6GB, 6/64GB & 8/128GB storage options, though one thing to note here is the device comes with UFS 2.1 storage, which is a good upgrade over the eMMC 5.1 which we get in this segment, which is  there’s triple card slot which means users can have 2 SIM’s plus a MicroSD card for storage expansion. It runs on Android 9 Pie based on ColorOS 6, it comes in two colour options – Crystal Green, Sparkling Blue.

Coming to the cameras, This is the main highlight of the phone, the Realme 5 Pro has a Quad-rear camera setup, in that Quad-rear camera setup it has a 48MP Sony IMX 586 primary sensor with an f/1.79 aperture, a secondary 8MP wide-angle lens with 119-FOV, followed by a 2MP Super-macro lens with 4cm shooting distance & lastly a 2MP depth sensor for portraits. On the front, it has a 16MP Sony IMX 471 sensor with an f./2.0 for the selfie camera. Both the front & rear cameras have EIS. Other camera features are – HDR mode, Chroma boost, AI beauty, Panorama, Nightscape etc.

There’s a 4065mAh which charges via Type-C port & yes you heard it right finally, Realme has gone with Type-C port, it supports 20W VOOC 3.0 flash charge which you also get in the box.
