With the launch of Poco X2 in February, the company made a comeback after a year of absence & now six months later, Today Poco launched the successor of the device .i.e. Poco X3 in India. The device has already launched in Europe two weeks ago.
Anyway, one thing to note here is that, while the X2 was a rebranded Redmi K30, the X3 has a new design all together & isn’t a rebranded device. So let’s get straight into the design & specs of it.
Poco X3: Design & Specifications.
As for the design, there’s a hole-punch display at the front & a single punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera, compared to X2 which had two, there’s minimal bezels all around & a good amount of chin at the bottom. The fingerprint sensor is integrated into the power button itself (side-mounted) Type-C port & speaker grill at the bottom.
The device has stereo speakers this time around & there’s Z linear Axis motor for better haptic feedback. Also, the Poco X3 NFC features liquid cooling technology 1.0 plus which has multi-layer graphite cooling & liquid cooling heat pipe for better heat dissipation.
The back design of the Poco X3 is quite different i.e. the camera array. The rectangular-shaped Quad rear camera setup in which the primary lense is surrounded by three other lenses & a LED Flash. On top of all this, the camera module has a circular ring around it and a text which says 64MP AI Super Camera. lastly, there huge POCO branding on the rear.
There’s a 6.67-inch FULLHD+ display with 120Hz high-refresh-rate & 240 touch sampling rate though there’s no mention of the display panel & since it has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor its probably an LCD panel like the Poco X2. There’s Corning Gorilla Glas 5 protection, HRD 10 & Widevine L1 support as well.
Under the hood, the handset is powered by all-new Qualcomm Snapdragon 732 processor which has 15% better GPU performance though it has same Kyro 470 CPU as Snapdragon 730G though the clock speed of SD 732G is just a tad bit higher at 2.3GHz compared to 2.2GHz of snapdragon 730G.
The Poco X3 comes with 6/8GB LPDDR4X RAM with 64/128GB UFS 2.1 storage. Runs on Miui 12 with Poco launcher on top of Android 10. The devices come in two colour options – Shadow Grey & Cobalt Blue.
For the optics, there is a Quad rear camera setup includes a primary 64MP camera with Sony IMX 682 sensor. Well, this is a minor downgrade in comparison with the IMX 586 since the former supports 4K @30FPS & the later goes upto 4K @60FPS. Other sensors are an upgraded 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens & a 2MP macro and lastly a 2MP depth sensor. For the front, there’s a 20MP selfie shooter.
The device has a huge 6000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support and the charger is included in the box. Poco claims that the 33W charger can charge battery upto 62% in just 30 minutes & 100% in just 65 minutes with the 33W charger. Moreover, it also has IP53 splash-proof protection.
