POCO India today, finally unveiled the much-hyped POCO X2 in the Indian market. This is the second phone from the company after the POCO F1 which was launched in August 2018 so after a gap of 18 months. Anyway, the device is a mid-range phone, unlike the F1 which was a budget flagship. Furthermore, the company added the X2 is a gaming-centric device.
Coming to the design, Well as it was evident from the teasers the POCO X2 is an indeed the re-branded version of the Redmi K30 4G so there’s absolutely no change in design. There’s a punch-hole display, the pill-shaped dual front cameras on the top right, there’s a minimal chin at the bottom. IR blaster at the top, Power button & side-fingerprint sensor, Type-C, speaker grill and 3.5mm audio jack at the bottom. On the back, there’s a circular design which houses quad cameras and POCO logo at the bottom.
As for the specifications, POCO X2 has a 6.67 inch LCD panel, not AMOLED, but it woulda been nonetheless it has 120Hz refresh rate which is a good thing, you can choose between 60Hz or 120Hz as per your choice. It has a FullHD+ panel with 20:9 aspect ratio, which makes it one of the cheapest smartphone with the 120Hz refresh rate display available in the Indian market. It supports HDR10 as well.
Under the hood, the device is a powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G with Liquid cooling tech, well this is the same chipset that powers Realme X2. Qualcomm says there’s a 15% graphic boost compareD to 730 SOC. POCO X2 comes in three RAM & Storage variants – 6GB RAM/64GB, 6GB/128GB & 8GB/256GB internal storage. The storage is UFS 2.1. Runs on MIUI for POCO based on Android 10.
Talking about the optics, POCO X2 has a Quad rear camera setup, which has a primary 64MP Sony IMX 686 (first time in India), a secondary 8MP ultra-wide-angle, a 2MP macro and lastly a 2MP depth camera, On the front, there’s a dual-camera consisting of 20MP & A 2MP sensor. Other features of the camera include – VLOG mode with 7 new styles to make pictures look interesting, 960FPS slow-motion recording, RAW captures, etc.
There’s a 4500mAh battery removable battery with 27W fast charging support & is included in the box. At the event, POCO compared its 27W to Realme’s 4000mAh battery with its 30W support and claimed that its 4500mAh battery with 27W fast charging charges faster than 4000mAh battery of Realme X2. POCO X2 comes in three colour options – Atlantis Blue, Matrix Purple and Pheonix Red.
As for the pricing, the 6GB RAM/64GB storage variant is priced at RS. 15,999, RS. 16,999 for the 6GB/128GB and RS.19,999 for the top-end 8GB/256GB variant, POCO X2 will be available for purchase from Flipkart on February 11th at 12 noon. There’s also a ₹1000 off on ICICI cardholder on all of the three variants.
