When we talk about fast charging technology, a company which automatically comes into mind is Oppo. Yes, the company has been leading the market for fast charging tech for a while now.
Oppo 125W Fast charging solution teased.
The company was one of the first companies to introduce a 30W, which is being used in many midrange Realme smartphones and not to forget 65W SuperVOOC which is the fastest fast charging solution available in the market, which can charge a 4000mAh battery in just 31 minutes. Well, if 65W was any less, Now Oppo will showcase a whopping 125W fast charging solution on July 15.
Oppo posted a teaser video on twitter to announce the 125W fast charging solution. We expect the company to brief or showcase the tech to media in China about this tech. though we don’t expect oppo to launch a smartphone with it however we might get s timeline on when this tech will be available commercially.
Well on the other side, Vivo’s sub-brand IQOO also announced a 120W solution for its phone. As per the company, it will soon launch a smartphone with a 120W fast charging solution. IQOO claims that the device can charge upto 50% in just five minutes & 100 % in fifteen minutes. So in that sense, we expect Oppo 125W fast charging solution to be slightly better.
Well, fast charging with 100W or above may sound wonderful but they could also have their own disadvantages as we saw in case of Xiaomi, which faced many technical problems with 100W like major battery degradation over time, safety etc
It will be interesting to see how the company work this tech out. What will be internal architecture & Cooling also addressing the problems like battery degradation, safety etc.
