After a number of leaks & teasers, Oppo has finally launched the much-awaited Reno 4 series in China. The Reno 4 series has two phones under it – Oppo Reno 4 & Reno 4 Pro. This series succeeds the Reno 3 series, launched last year which had a beautiful design with a curved display & gradient back.
As evident, The Pro model gets the best of the design & features among the two phones, though the biggest differentiator between the Reno 4 & 4 Pro are the cameras apart from the small differences that both the phones have.
Oppo Reno 4 & 4 Pro: Design & Specifications.
The Oppo Reno 4 has a dual punch-hole panel, the display is flat, minimal bezels all around but has a good amount of chin at the bottom while the Reno 4 Pro features a curved punch-hole display, minimal bezels all around with edges, minimal chin at the bottom. As for the rear, both the phones have a Bold camera design which consists of a triple camera lens.
There’s an under-screen fingerprint sensor since both the phone feature an AMOLED panel. The volume rockers on the left & the power with a blue colour accent on the right. Type-C port & speaker grille at the bottom and of course there’s no 3.5mm audio jack.
However, the 4 Pro also gets the two gradient colour finish .i.e – Red & Blue. The rear panel has a frosted glass with the “Reno Glow” branding on the side of the phone.
As for the Specs, the Oppo Reno 4 has a 6.4 AMOLED display with FullHD+ resolution and 90.4% screen-to-body-ratio while the Reno 4 Pro features a slightly bigger display at 6.5inch, AMOLED panel with FullHD+ resolution & has 90Hz refresh rate display. There’s a higher screen-to-body-ratio at 93.4.
Under the hood, both the devices are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G & both the phone comes in two RAM & Storage variants i.e. 8GB LPDDR4X RAM & 128GB/256GB 2.1 UFS Storage & 12GB LPDDR4X RAM & 128GB/256GB 2.1 UFS Storage.
Runs on ColorOS 7 based on Android 10 & the Oppo Reno 4 comes in 3 three colour options – Black, Blue & Purple while the Reno 4 Pro comes in five colour options – Black, Green, white, Crystal Diamond Red & Crystal Diamond Blue.
For the optics, as we mentioned above, the cameras are the main differentiator between the two. Anyways, there’s a triple camera setup that includes a primary 48MP Sony IMX 586 sensor with no OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP B&W sensor for portraits. On the front, there’s a dual selfie camera include a 32MP primary lens & a 2MP depth sensor.
As for the Reno 4 Pro, it also has a triple camera setup which includes a primary 48MP Sony IMX 586 sensor with OIS, a 12MP Sony IMX 708 ultra-wide-angle lens & a 13MP telephoto lens. On the front, there’s a 32MP selfie shooter.
Now on the battery side, Reno 4 has a slightly bigger battery at 4,020mAh battery compared to the Reno 4 Pro has a 4,000mAh battery. With that being said both the phones support 65W fast charge.
Oppo Reno 4 & Reno 4 Pro: Pricing & Availability.
Reno 4 8GGB/128GB base variant is priced at 2,999 yuan ($423) & the top variant with 8GB/256GB is priced at 3,299 yuan ($465).
On the oth=er hand, the Reno 4 Pro 8GB/128GB base variant is priced at 3,799 yuan ($536) & the top variant with 12GB/256GB is priced at 4,299 yuan ($606).
Both the phones will go on sale from 12th June in China & like the previous Reno series, we think the Reno 4 will always go Global, though there’s official wording on when it will!
