As you may already know, MWC got cancelled due to concerns over COVID-19, so was Oppo plan of launching its flagship, then sometime later Oppo announced the new date for the launch, As you may have guessed by now, Yes Oppo has finally launched the Find X2 series. The flagship device is the successor to the Oppo Find X which was launched in 2018, which had full-screen design & was the first to implement a pop-up camera mechanism. Anyway, this time around there’s a little change as there are now two phones i.e. Oppo find X2, Oppo Find X2 Pro.
Now, you may ask what’s the difference between the Find X2 series phones. Well, there’s a bit of difference as Find X2 Pro has a slightly different rear design, also a slightly different rear camera which includes a Perioscope lens and has an IP68 rating, bigger battery.
Oppo Find X2 Design & Specifications.
Well the Find X2 has a punch-hole display with a single selfie camera at the top left, curved edges on both sides with almost no bezel all-around, minimal chin at the bottom, optical fingerprint sensor underneath the display. The power button on the right, volume rockers on the left, Type-C port & single speaker grill at the bottom & of course there’s no 3.5mm headphone jack. The rear of the Find X2 has a vertically placed triple rear camera setup at the back & also a vertical Oppo logo at the bottom.
As for the specifications, Find X2 features a 6.7 QHD OLED panel with 3168 x 1440 (3K) resolution & 120Hz refresh rate. It is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 6. Well since its a flagship series phone it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM & 256GB with UFS 3.0 storage, there’s no MicroSD card support. Runs on ColorOS 7.1 based on Android 10. The device comes in two colour options – Black Ceramic, Ocean Glass, The black ceramic has a dual-tone finish as in like a ceramic finish on one half & Texture finish on the other half.
The vertical camera module on the back has a triple rear camera setup with a primary 48MP Sony IMX 586 sensor & Optical Image Stabilization, a secondary 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens Sony IMX 708 sensor & a 120-degree FOV, a third a 13MP telephoto lens with 5x Hybrid Zoom. Moreover, the ultra-wide angle lens can also be used to take macro photos and can go upto 3cm close without losing focus. There is a 32MP with f/2.4 aperture camera on the front.
Finally, the handset has a 4200mAh battery with 65W fash charging. Find X2 doesn’t support wireless charging but it does have IP54 protection.
Find X2 Pro Design & Specifications.
Well, this is the Flagship of the X2 series, though there’s no difference in terms of design. It has the punch-hole display with a single selfie camera at the top left, curved edges on both sides with almost no bezel all-around, minimal chin at the bottom, optical fingerprint sensor underneath the display. The power button on the right, volume rockers on the left, Type-C port & single speaker grill at the bottom & of course there’s no 3.5mm headphone jack. Find X2 Pro has a vertically placed triple rear camera setup at the back & also a vertical Oppo logo at the bottom.
Coming to the specification, the Find X2 Pro has the same 6.7-inch QHD OLED display with 3168 x 1440 (3K) resolution & 120Hz refresh rate. Well, that’s a bummer if you ask me since it uses the “Pro” moniker so yeah &. the device has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor coupled with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM & 512GB storage, compared to 256GB on X2, UFS 3.0. There’s no MicroSD card support, runs on ColorOS 7.1 based on Android 10. The device comes in two colour options as well – Black Ceramic, Orange Vegan Leather. So the Black Ceramic has a textured finish on the back & the Orange Vegan Leather has a Leather like finish.
Well the X2 Pro also has the triple rear cameras setup at the back but what’s worth noting are the different sensors used which makes the device stand out between the two. So there’s a primary 48MP Sony IMX 689 sensor with 1/14 sensor & f/1.7 aperture, a secondary 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens with Sony IMX 586 sensor & 120-degree FOV, this is the biggest sensor that has been used for an ultra-wide lens i.e which pixel bins & gives a 12MP shot.
Finally the Main thing, yes it is the 13MP perioscope telephoto lens with 5X Optical Zoom, 10X Hybrid Zoom & upto 60X Zoom, the company says this is second-gen 10X hybrid zoom after it was introduced in Reno 10X. The front selfie camera is the same 32MP lens with f/2.4 aperture.
The handset has a 4260mAh battery with 65W fash charging. Find X2 Pro also doesn’t have wireless charging support, which is surprising as it is a “Pro” model but it does have the IP68 rating which is nice nonetheless.
