From 2016, OnePlus used to release single “T” variant of the flagship in the second half of the year eg – 3T, 5T & 6T. Fast forward to 2019 the company started the launching two flagships OnePlus 7 & 7 Pro in the first half and the same was followed in the second half with the OnePlus 7T & 7T Pro.
This move made it clear that we will see “Four” flagships from the company in a year. So we got the OnePlus 8 series in the first half of 2020. Now rumours are rife about the OnePlus releasing OnePlus 8T series at the end of this month but there’s also a strong rumour that the company will only launch 8T, not the 8T Pro. Well, it is not confirmed yet.
OnePlus 8T Specifications.
Anyway, Today, we got the OnePlus 8T specifications thanks to report by Android central. Well, a couple of days ago a render of OnePlus device was found on Android 11 Developer Preview for the OnePlus 8 series and by the looks of it, it seems it is the OnePlus 8T as the image (see below) has a flat display whereas the OnePlus 8 had a curved display. Moreover, the bezels & chin seems a little less too.
Well, now that’s out of the way, back to the leaked 8T specifications. The report from the Android Central suggests that the device has a 6.55 inch AMOLED panel with 120Hz high-refresh-rate, so it has the same display size as 8 but the refresh rate has been bumped upto 120Hz, which was 90Hz in OnePlus 8.
For the optics, well in terms of Mega Pixels count it is same as 8 (48MP) though the company is using a newer sensor, no Sony IMX 686. Other sensors include a 16MP ultra-wide-angle, a 5MP Macro & lastly a 2MP depth sensor. So No telephoto lens still Vey disappointing.
Back in June, leaked source code of the company’s Engineering app revealed that OnePlus is working on a 65W charger for an upcoming phone. Well, that just might be the OnePlus 8T, so a 65W Warp charge would be a huge upgrade over the current 30TW Warp charge.
Anyways, other specs are pretty self-explanatory like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ processor & 8/12GB ram & 128/256GB Storage, Oxygen OS 11 on top of Android 11.
As for the launch date, it is rumoured to be launching around the end of the September or first week of October.
Well, that’s all we have it for you as of now. Stay tuned for more.
