Today, OnePlus finally unveiled its flagship for the second half of the year. Well, it is the OnePlus 8T, Yes this year there’s no 8T “Pro” variant just the regular variant. In terms of specs the, 8T sits in between the 8 & the 8 Pro, Even though its more of an incremental upgrade over its predecessor but it brings up some key changes like the 120Hz flat AMOLED display, 65W Warp charge & 4500mAh battery.
OnePlus 8T: Design & Specifications.
Well, for the OnePlus 8T the company went back to the flat screen instead of curved displays off the 8 series. There’s a hole-punch display with the cutout on the top left, minimal bezels all around, noticeable chin at the bottom. Power button & Alert slider on the right & volume rockers on left. Type-C port & Speaker at the bottom & as usual no 3.5mm audio jack!
As for the back, this is the biggest design change from the 8 Series. There’s a rectangular camera module on the top left instead of in the middle like the 8 series which houses the Quad rear camera setup with dual-LED flash. The brand logo at the bottom. The rear panel has frosted glossy glass finish to it
Now coming to the specifications, OnePlus 8T has a 6.55 inch AMOLED panel with FullHD+ resolution & 120Hz resolution, compared to 90Hz of 8. Powering the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, yeah no SD 865+ anyway, there’s 8/12GB & 128/256GB with UFS 3.1.
The devices feature stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos & 285% larger vapour cham7ber for heat dispensation. Oxygen OS 11 based on Android 11. The flagship device comes in two colour options – Lunar Silver, Aquamarine Green.
For the optics, the Quad rear camera includes a 48MP with Sony IMX 586, a secondary 16MP ultra-wide-angle, a 5MP Macro & lastly a 2MP Monochrome sensor. On the front, there is a 32MP selfie shooter. Other camera features include – Video Portrait, Video Nightscape, Video Tracking & Super Stabilization etc.
There is a 4500mAh battery with 65W Warp charge, Well, this makes the 8T fastest charging OnePlus phone ever.
OnePlus 8T: Price & Availability.
The 8GB/128GB base variant is priced at Rs. 42,999 & the 12GB/256GB variant is priced at Rs 45,999 & early access sale starts October 16th. Open sale on 17th October on onePlus. in & Amazon.in
For North America, there’s only one variant i.e. – 12GB/256 is available at $749. Pre-orders start today & will be available from 23 October. The device will soon be available on T-Mobile.
