After months of leaks & teasers, we have one of the most anticipated launches of 2019, yes OnePlus has finally unveiled its OnePlus 7 Series – OnePlus 7 (the standard variant) & a Pro version of it – Oneplus 7 Pro. This is the first time OnePlus has launched two devices together. Traditionally OnePlus have always saved a flagship for the first half & flagship for another half.

So let’s jump right into the highlight of the launch, the more flagship-level grade smartphone from OnePlus- The OnePlus 7 Pro, there’s a lot to talk about it which differentiate it from the Standard OnePlus 7, which is just an incremental upgrade from the OnePlus 6T.

OnePlus 7 Pro

OnePlus with the OnePlus 7 Pro has gone with the bezel-less design, with no notch upfront & minimal chin at the bottom, to give users the best multimedia experience. OnePlus 7 Pro has a Dual Curved 6.7-inch OLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate (which is the first for any mainstream flagship), QHD+ resolution (3120×1440) pixel, HDR 10+ support, which enables users to watch HDR 10 Content on Netflix. OnePlus calls its Fluid AMOLED display, there’s also a 3D Gorilla glass for protection.

Under the hood, OnePlus 7 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 octa-core processor (7mm) clocked upto 2.84GHz, Adreno 640 GPU for graphics etc, coupled with 6GB/8GB/12GB of RAM & 128GB/256GB of internal storage, OnePlus says that they’ve added a ten layer liquid cooling system that will help the device from heating, Oneplus 7 pro is the first phone to support UFS 3.0. Runs of Oxygen OS on top of Android 9 Pie.

On to the cameras, OnePlus has finally joined the bandwagon as the OnePlus 7 Pro has a triple camera setup at the back, of which the primary is a 48MP Sony IMX 586 sensor with f/1.6 aperture, OIS, EIS, a secondary 8MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture, OIS, 3x zoom, and a 16MP wide-angle lens with f/2.4 aperture, 117-degree field of view, the camera has three focus mode, PDf, CAF & laser.

Other features of the camera include- Nightscape, Ultra shot, Manual mode, HRD, portrait etc. The OnePlus 7 Pro can shoot 4K videos at 60fps. On the front, OnePlus has gone with a Pop-up mechanism selfie camera (first for any OnePlus phone) with a 16MP Sony IMX 471 sensor with f/2.0 aperture, so there’s all in terms of camera hardware that user needs in a flagship.

Finally the battery, The OnePlus 7 Pro has 4000mAh battery, biggest in any OnePlus phone yet with the support for Warp charge 30, which the company introduced last year with the 6t. OnePlus 7 Pro has stereo speakers, which is a huge jump from just a single speaker at the bottom. The Optical fingerprint sensor is present under the display, which the OnePlus says is 64% faster & accurate than that on the 6T and also there’s no 3.5mm audio jack. OnePlus 7 Pro comes in three colour options Mirror Grey, Nebula Blue and Almond.

OnePlus 7

The design of the all New OnePlus 7 remains the same as last year’s flagship, OnePlus 6T, so there’s a 6.41 inch FullHD+ AMOLED display with waterdrop notch, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 2.5D Gorilla Glass for protection and a small chin at the bottom. As this is the standard OnePlus 7, there’s no 90Hz display like the 7 Pro.

Performance, As we mentioned above that OnePlus 7 is an incremental upgrade to from last year’s 6T, so there’s the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 octa-core processor with Adreno 640 GPU for graphics etc, coupled with 6GB/8GB LPDDR4X RAM & 128GB/256GB of internal storage, as usual, there’s no MicroSD card slot for memory expansion, Oneplus 7 also support UFS 3.0 and also retains the dual stereo speaker, runs of Oxygen OS on top of Android 9 Pie.

For the optics – The OnePlus 7 has a dual rear cameras Stereo at the back, a primary 48MP Sony IMX 586 sensor with f/1.7 aperture coupled with a 5MP lens for depth sensing, it is pretty weird that Oneplus went for secondary depth sensor when they could have easily gone for telephoto or a wide-angle lens. OIS & EIS is available for the primary camera also can shoot 4K videos at 60fps. Some other camera features are Nightscape, Ultra shot, Manual mode, HRD, portrait etc. On the front, the device has a single 16MP Sony IMX 471 sensor with f/2.0 aperture.

The battery of the OnePlus 7 remains unchanged from last year at 3700mAh with support for Warp charge 20, unlike the faster Warp charge 30. OnePlus 7 comes in two colour options, the Mirror Grey & Red, although the Red colour is only available for India & China.
