After being in rumours & leaks for months. Google has finally revealed that it will launch the next iteration of Pixel device i.e. – Pixel 5 on September 30th at an online event, which is titled as “LaunchLightIn”. The company has already sent invites which states “Your couch is the best place in your house” referring to the online event of course.
Well, alongside the new Pixel phones, the company will launch New Chromecast & Smart speakers though the invite did not reveal much about the other two things, only had a mention of the upcoming Pixel phones.
Pixel 5 CAD renders.
Well, The Google Pixel 5 has a similar design to that of the Pixel 4A. Yes, a hole-punch display with the cut-out on the top left of the display, well so the company is done with Soli radar chip & sensors that were present on the Pixel 4.Anyway, there are minimal bezels all around, minimal chin at the bottom. Well, Pixel signature white accent power button & Volume rockers on the right, left side is clean. Type-C port & speaker grille at the bottom.
On the rear, there’s a Boxy camera module at the top left which houses the Dual rear camera with the LED Flash. Google hasn’t shifted to the Quad rear cameras bandwagon yet. With that being said we know that Pixel phones have the best camera even with the fewer camera sensors. Anyway, the fingerprint is on the back, which made a comeback in the 5. The back of the device has a sandstone finish for better grip & less fingerprint.
Pixel 5 specifications.
The device is expected it to have a 6 inch OLED display with 90Hz refresh rate, under the hood, there’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G, this is no secret that the company has had difficulties to sell its Flagship Pixel devices & the fact that the midrange Pixel 3A helped the company in terms of smartphone sales so this might be the reason we are seeing a midrange processor instead of a flagship processor.
Pixel 5 may come with 8GB RAM & 128GB internal storage and running Android 11 out of the box & will come in two colour options – Green & Black.
As for the rear cameras, there is a dual-camera setup which is expected to include a primary 12.2MP with Sony IMX 363 and a secondary 16MP Sony IMX 481 and for the front camera, it may have an 8MP Sony IMX 355 sensor.
As far as the battery is concerned, Pixel 5 may feature a 4,000mAh battery with 15W Qi wireless charging & one leak says that there will be support for reserve wireless charging as well.
There is no information about the pricing as yet. though the launch is just two weeks away, so we would know all the upcoming Google device and also let us! know your thoughts about Google opting for a Midrange processor than a flagship in the comment section below.
