Last month we got our very first look at the CAD renders of the upcoming Google Pixel 4, we already know it looks from the rear with Square shaped dual cameras like Apple iPhone XS Max, front remained a mystery We didn’t know if it has a punch-hole camera or a notch, but not anymore as @Onleaks gave us another look at the CAD renders of the Pixel 4 XL this time of the front.
Google Pixel 4 XL
If you are thinking that there’s a surprise & Google moved to punch-hole design, well sorry there’s nothing like that. The Google Pixel 4 has no notch design but a similar top bezel like the last year Pixel 3, so apparently to our surprise the Google Pixel 4 has relatively thinner bottom chin than the top bezel which houses the speaker grill, dual front cameras just like the Pixel 3XL. There’s also a hollow space next to the earpiece which could potentially be used for the touchless gesture interaction or could be the face unlock feature hinted in Android Q Beta, there’s no front dual speaker instead there’s a mono speaker alongside the Type-C port at the bottom, no 3.5mm audio jack.
The back of the Google Pixel 4 is made of glass for the wireless charging, there’s no fingerprint sensor present on the back which means Google is going with an in-display fingerprint reader though it would be interesting to see what tech google chooses i.e ultrasonic or optical.
As for the cameras, we already know there’s a square-shaped camera module which houses the triple rear camera setup at least for Pixel 4 XL, there’s a regular primary camera, the second lens is probably a telephoto lens as hinted by the Google camera code found by the XDA, though the third lens it could very well be a TOF sensor.
The display of the device is approx 6.25 inch & dimensions are 160.4 x 75.2 x 8.2mm with the additional thickness of 9.3mm of the camera bump.
Google will unveil its Pixel lineup in October & if the history of Google with leaks is anything to go, we’ll wouldn’t be surprised to see more leaks popping out in coming months.
