Black Shark to unveil Black Shark 2 Pro on 30th July in China, might come with Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC!




Well, it looks we’re gonna get another gaming smartphone soon after the Asus ROG 2 launches and its from Black Shark, Yes you read that right as Black Shark announced on Weibo that they’ll be launching Black Shark 2 Pro, a ‘Pro’ of the recently launched the Black Shark 2.

Qualcomm recently announced the Snapdragon 855 Plus processor and Asus was first to announce that the upcoming ROG 2 gaming phone will be powered by 855 plus SOC & then Black shark later re-shared Qualcomm 855 plus announcement post which hinted that the upcoming Black Shark gaming phone might come with Snapdragon 855 Plus. Snapdragon 855+ is an overlocked version of Snapdragon 855, i.e SD 885 is clocked upto 2.84GHz which has been bumped upto 2.96 in the 855n Plus.

FYI, the Black Shark 2 was launched earlier this year in March, the handset has a 6.39 FullHD+ true view AMOLED display, 19:5.9 aspect ratio, has a refresh rate 60Hz unlike 90Hz on other gaming phones, DC diming, Always on Display, eye protection mode and an in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers.

Black Shark 2 is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 640 GPU for gaming. It has 6/8GB RAM with 128/256GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage. The device has a Liquid Cooling 3.0 technology, a vapour chamber cooling system that will help the device to keep the heat at bay during an intense gaming session. Runs on Stock-ish UI on top of Android 9 Pie.

It has a dual rear camera setup at the back, a primary 48MP Samsung GM1 sensor with f/1.75 aperture and a secondary 12MP telephoto lens with 2x zoom, f/2.2 aperture, on the front it has a 20MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture for the selfies. Other camera features include – HDR, low-light, bokeh mode & 4K recording at 30FPS.

The handset has a 4000mAh battery with support for 27W fast charge, which the company claims can charge the device upto 60% in just 30 minutes of charge, it weighs 205 grams so some user may feel it at a heavier side.

The Black Shark 2 launched in May, this year, which is kinda late considering it launched in China in March but this time the company has promised that the wait won’t be that long for the Black Shark 2 Pro so let’s see when it launches after its gets officially unveiled in China next week.
